365 Days of Gratitude – Day 329

I am REALLY enjoying my break from my courses and spent almost two hours on personal reading. While I feel guilty at times spending time on personal reading, my mother recently reminded me that to become a better writer, reading is essential. My next read – Malcom Gladwell’s David and Goliath. I do very little personal reading (other than magazines) while my quarter is active. Breaks are that much sweeter because I am able to engage in some of my personal interests I am not able to as my priorities are my school work. I’m thankful for breaks from my coursework.

PS-The Alchemist was an excellent and very quick read. If you have not read it yet-please take a gander. It is full of wisdom, written over 20 years ago, and is timeless.

365 Days of Gratitude – Day 328

Lately, I have been thinking a great deal about what the next two years of my professional life will look like. I am grateful, excited, and satisfied with my new role but am curious at the number of opportunities having my DBA will provide me. I’ve reached out to a few potential mentors (both with PhD’s or DBA’s) and both responded to me with their willingness to provide professional guidance. I’m really excited at the possibilities, advice, and networking that is ahead of me. Finally, I am thankful both responded and offered their assistance.

365 Days of Gratitude – Day 326

Day two of the new job and I cannot be more grateful. I feel like I hit the cubicle lottery. My cubicle is directly in front of a row of windows that provides so much sun I almost need sunglasses. My schedule is something I establish and I am more in control of my workflow than ever before. My cube mates are wonderful and so talented. While, I miss my PSL team, but am still in contact with many of them. I treasure opportunities and know they are a part of my overall plan and purpose.

What opportunity are you grateful for?

365 Days of Gratitude – Day 325

Today, my new journey at Capella began. I have accepted a position as a Dissertation Advisor. I work in a new department on a new team and am very excited (and a little nervous) for this new role. Change management has always been a challenge for me, but I am much better at transitions, less vocal, and really try to focus on the positive. I’m grateful to work for a corporation that deeply supports professional development. I am thrilled to joining a team where I can utilize my purpose and contribute in different ways.

What brought you gratitude today?

365 Days of Gratitude – Day 320

Today, I had the pleasure of volunteering at the Ronald McDonald house and had a tremendous time. I am extremely grateful for opportunities like this to remind me for all of the blessings I have been given. I shared this experience with two of my coworkers and it was extra special to participate in an event like this with them. This experience simply touched my heart and soul.
