365 Days of Gratitude – Day 149

I love, love, love Saturdays. One of my favorite ways to spend the day is to sleep in, enjoy coffee, exercise, and then mark at least one item off of my to do list. Today, I was able to work some over time (thank you for the opportunity) and go to church. It’s been a long time since I’ve been regularly attending church and today I’m grateful to have returned to a spiritual and religious home.

How did you spend your Saturday?

365 Days of Gratitude – Day 148

Thank goodness it is Friday. Yet another long productive week under my belt, but what’s most exciting is that we are one more week closer to Spring, spending time outside, more minutes of sunlight, and less time in traffic due to winter weather. I’m excited to have few plans this weekend and grateful to have no plans this evening. Quiet, movie, popcorn are some of my favorite ways to spend my time.

What is your favorite way to spend your time?

365 Days of Gratitude – Day 147

I’m a very competitve person and love a good challenge (even better when there is a prize involved. Today, we were given a lofty challenge which required our team to work together. It was the most enjoyable and energetics day we’ve had in some time. Sometimes we just need a new source of motivation disguised through a game (and prizes never hurt). Am not sure if we met our goal just yet but really enjoyed trying.

What fun have you experienced while reaching for a goal?

365 Days of Gratitude – Day 146

Another busy and productive day is well under way. Today, I found many sources of inspiration which I truly enjoy and gratitate towards. While watching a graduation video I overheard a quote and please forgive me I do not recall who the author is. The quote is “fortune favors the brave.” Wow, what power and yet another source of encouragement.

When was the last time you exhibited bravery?

365 Days of Gratitude – Day 144

I am learning and making different choices and setting new goals. Life is a series of challenges to overcome isn’t it? Just when we think we’ve got it under control a new facet makes its way into our lives and boom-> here’s something new to be dealt with. But, that’s ok. We’re tough, passionate, and can meet any challenge head on. I’m grateful that I am focused and driven, this is what helps me meet my challenges.

How do you meet yours?

365 Days of Gratitude – Day 143

While reading the latest copy of O Magazine I was presented with “20 Questions Every Woman Should Ask Themselves.” The series of questions are designed to be self-reflective and are representative of many areas of a women’s life. Some questions are simple and some profound. One question in particular touched me. That question was how do I want to be remembered? A few thoughts came to mind, first if I died tomorrow how would my previous 41 years be remembered? Second, if I lived to be 100 how would I want to spend the next 59 years? My life’s mission is to make an impact in people’s lives and hope that I have done that (if not for a select few).

I hope that my professional contributions have been meaningful. Also, I hope that the strangers I come into contact with find how I have treated them to be with kindness and thoughtfulness. I hope that I have been a mentor, coach, and teacher for many. I hope that some have looked up to me and that I have inspired others to be better human beings. Finally, I hope my friends and family are proud of who I was and how I impacted them. I am grateful for my journey, the struggles, celebrations all of whom have made me exactly the person I am today.

How do you want to be remembered?

365 Days of Gratitude – Day 142

I’ve really been enjoying spending time with friends and family. For me, they are my primary source of support and could not achieve even half of my goals without each of them. Since being on break, I’ve been purposeful about catching up with those I’ve not been able to maintain close contact with. What’s been splendid is that despite the distance and time between us our connections remain. And that is what I am truly grateful for.

Who fills your soul?

365 Days of Gratitude – Day 140

Today was a day of wonderful occurrences….traffic was light, work was slower, no lunch plans, was very productive, didn’t rush, the sun is out, it’s warm outside, and time spent with an old friend (she’s not old, just have known her for sometime). I wish everyday could be like this. Well….just think for a second if it was. What would life be like if it was perfect all of the time. Would we take for granted so much more than we do now? Would we enjoy the sun and 40 degrees as much as we do? Would we treasure our time in the same ways? Most likely, not and that is the key to being grateful for this wonderful life. We are forced to take the good AND the bad.

What was good in your day today?
